All jewelry is not just created by my hands. Each has three main aspects:
Heart made, Head made, Hand made.
Heart made
Once my mind has drawn a certain image, even if it’s still vague, I begin working. I enjoy mixing colors, shapes, and textures. Like a gourmet anticipating a great feast, I’m delighted with the idea of giving life to a new piece, no matter how small and simple it may be.
I cherish the moments of sitting in silence and choosing the elements to combine, creating the composition, harmonizing colors and carefully thinking through all the little details.
Being inspired by new ideas and trying something unusual.
Dreaming, creating, changing myself, and changing the world around me.
Head made
My mind constantly generates new ideas.
Some of them light up and fade away like a single spark, while others illuminate the darkness as if they were fireworks, making me wish I could live through this celebration again and again.
Some ideas patiently wait for their time to shine. Others jump up and down with anticipation, like a first-grader who’s so eager to share something in class.
Imagination soars, but the engineering part of my mind forces it to keep one foot on the ground. After all, every piece should not only be beautifully designed, but also well crafted. It should have fine finishes, be easy to fasten, and demonstrate a splendid balance of proportions. It should be practical and a pleasure to wear.
Hand made
Sometimes, it just doesn’t click. Something appears missing. The picture doesn’t look right.
There are projects for which I invent and create special elements. But there are times I have to start hunting outside for a specific gemstone or other needed detail. It may take me days visiting dozens of stores to find it. Or I may surprisingly discover it among my own treasures—the ones I bought back in the day, when hit by that ‘wow’ feeling.
Once all the pieces are in place, I try to turn parts into a Whole. Bending, carving, and shaping. Soldering, stringing, gluing and weaving…
Finally, I see my creation starting to live a life of its own, driven by the mysterious forces of harmony. It acquires its own personality and spirit, speaks its own language and is filled with its own unique energy.
And then it leaves me and goes to its new beautiful owner to illuminate her face, to add new colors to her world, and to let her to feel the heartbeat in the rhythm of the strung beads
