Gemstones and crystals.

Gemstones

I love to use natural gemstones. On rare occasions, I use imitations, but only of singular, top quality. Usually, they are so-called “pressed” stones, which are produced from stone chips or powder, connecting substance and dyes. Such imitations to not carry the energetic properties of natural stones. Pressed stones are purely decorative design elements, the same as glass or ceramic beads.

On rare occasions, whenever I do use imitations, I always disclose it in the description.

Some stones I use are tinted. According to the manufacturers, this is the most durable and relatively long-lasting coloring process. Unlike imitation stones, esoteric experts hold that tinted stones do preserve their energetic properties. Besides tinting, stones can also be treated using other methods.

Treatment of stones: micro cracks (“crackle”), tinting, surface etching, threading, faceting and polishing, the so-called “frost” treatment — it resembles frosting on a glass surface. I absolutely do not use stone-imitating plastic.

I love stones for their beauty. Sometimes I use stones without even knowing their name or type — because I am inspired by their beautiful form or enthralled by a surface pattern. The chief inspiration is — whether it naturally “jumps” into my hand at the moment or not.

With respect to the quality and origin of stones, I refer to the information from the supplier. In cases when I am not 100% certain that the stone is of natural origin, I prefer to not use the category “natural-artificial” and disclose the name supplied to me by the seller.

If you see that I have made a mistake, I would be happy to hear from you and correct the error.

Swarovski and other crystals.

In jewelry design, crystals are elements made of crystal glass. The Swarovski Jewelry Company makes the top-quality crystal and is firmly positioned as the No. 1 leader around the world. The Czech-based Preciosa Crystal is in the second place. Right now, crystal glass elements produced by other manufacturers, primarily from China, are also widely used. In many cases, they are affordable and of good quality (which, however, doesn’t compare to that of Swarovski). Whenever I choose crystals manufactured by other companies, I always pay attention to their quality and choose the very best.
